FIRST YEAR FINAL PIECE

Half Corset with Appliqué Sheer Bodysuit

Flowers- Muslin Dyed flowers (Purple and Blue) stitched onto acetate, Calico dyed flowers (yellow and purple) stitched onto acetate, stitched to bodysuit
Half Corset- Dyed blue calico with machine embroidery floral print

This garment has been taken from my final exam piece. As seen in my development and research, I have been inspired by dresses such as Valentino's 'Bird Dress'. I wanted the flowers crawling up the garment to look 3D so I backed them with acetate to make them stand up and not just sit against the garment. The colour scheme is seen throughout my body of work and was drawn from the imagery I collected.
